Our Y-DNA Project Results.

The chart below gives the main modal types found today. However, as more and more participants are added to the the data charts below, we will define our own project modals. The Haplogroup - R1b data below is taken from two sources; 1. By searching on ysearch.org's website under the McGeachie surname and variants, and, 2. The Clan Donald DNA Project data charts searching for the McGeachie surname (or variants). Furthermore, the Haplogroup - "Unknown", has been setup for my own test results. The main reason for the setup of the group Unknown was that I have a paper trail to James McGeachie Weaver (birth place unknown) born around the late 1770's who had a son George McGeachie born in Ireland (1796). Finally, I'm on the trail of George McGeachie (and family) from Port Glasgow who was born around 1754 - and, he could be the above James's father. A DNA test may resolve this line of investigation.

Further to the information above regarding George McGeachie from Port Glasgow, I found another George McGeachie a (Sailer), and his spouse Margaret Watson, they had a Daughter Helen born 3rd Jan 1745 in Greenock Renfrew.
